Nalanda University Rajgir located in the town of Rajgir in Bihar, India, Nalanda University is an international postgraduate and research-focused university. It was established on 25 November 2010 through a special Act of the Indian Parliament as an “institution of national importance.”

The university was created to bring back the legacy of the ancient Nalanda University, which existed from the 5th to the 12th century CE and is known as the world’s first residential university.

The entire admission process is fully online and paperless and conducted by Nalanda University itself. Applicants must fill out the complete application form and submit it along with a Statement of Purpose (SoP), a self-introductory note, and the required documents listed in the form available on the university website.

For Indian Students

Candidates must visit the university website and fill out the online Application Form through the Apply Here portal. The completed form, Statement of Purpose (SOP), required documents, and payment details must be emailed to admissions2025@nalandauniv.edu.in

Nalanda University Rajgir Admission Timeline

Priority Application Deadline: 31 March 2025
Admissions Open: April 2025 for the Academic Year 2025–2027
