Benefits of PMSS for RPF/RPSF Students

1. Monthly Scholarship Amount

  • Rs. 2500 per month for male students
  • Rs. 3000 per month for female students

2. Duration

Scholarships are provided for 2 to 5 years, depending on the course.

Every selected student receives a letter from the Hon’ble Prime Minister, which is a great motivation.

4. Direct Bank Transfer

Scholarship amount is sent directly to the student’s bank account via PFMS-DBT.

Eligibility Criteria for PMSS (RPF/RPSF)

To apply for the scholarship, students must meet the following conditions:

1. Who Can Apply?

Dependent wards or widows of Ex/Serving RPF/RPSF personnel (below Gazetted rank).

2. Education Requirement

Students must have taken regular admission (no distance learning allowed).

Minimum 60% marks in MEQ (12th/Diploma/Graduation as applicable).

3. Family Limit

Only two children per family can receive this scholarship.

4. Eligible Courses

  3. BBA/BCA/B.Sc (Ag)

  6. LLB (Integrated 5-year courses)

(Note: Master’s courses are not allowed except MBA & MCA.)

Order of Preference (If Applications Exceed Limit)

If more than 150 eligible students apply, preference is given in this order:

  1. Category I: Wards/widows of RPF/RPSF personnel who died in the line of duty (terrorist/criminal encounter, election duty etc.)
  2. Category II: Wards/widows of personnel who died while in service.
  3. Category III: Wards of retired RPF/RPSF personnel.
  4. Category IV: Wards of serving RPF/RPSF personnel.

How to Apply for PMSS Online (Step-by-Step Guide)

All applications are accepted through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

  1. Visit NSP and choose Central Schemes → Ministry of Railways
  2. Click Apply
  3. If you’re a new user, register with basic details
  4. Submit your Student Registration ID
  5. Login and open the Application Form
  6. Upload all required documents
  7. Click Final Submit
